Yo! This is a character from a very short comic, which I'll post sometime in the next couple of weeks (i.e. before Easter), seen before only in crappy pencil sketches.

Jack Rabbit, of Rabbit Rangers in the 1st Century.

I thought I'd try something a bit different with my shading, having been inspired by some of the big dudes out there on DA (particularly this *Javas dude). Unfortunately, I use 'freeware digital illustration solutions' _{read:inkscape} rather than the mainstream stuff, so most of the tutorials out there are fairly meaningless to me (and/or I can't read them). So this was really an exercise in studied reverse engineering, and feels a little less like cheating.

Just, please, don't ask me where the light-sources are meant to be.

this is really good.but just one question: where does the light source come from? just kidding, the shading feel right to me. Sometimes when you try to be too logical about the light, it seems fake. I find it better just to use the intuition.

I hear what you're saying about lighting things. Sometimes you just have to splash a bit of light where there wouldn't really be any to make it look just right (even though it's technically wrong).
