Jack Rabbit by Markside Jack Rabbit by Markside
Yo! This is a character from a very short comic, which I'll post sometime in the next couple of weeks (i.e. before Easter), seen before only in crappy pencil sketches.

Jack Rabbit, of Rabbit Rangers in the 1st Century.

I thought I'd try something a bit different with my shading, having been inspired by some of the big dudes out there on DA (particularly this *Javas dude). Unfortunately, I use 'freeware digital illustration solutions' read:inkscape rather than the mainstream stuff, so most of the tutorials out there are fairly meaningless to me (and/or I can't read them). So this was really an exercise in studied reverse engineering, and feels a little less like cheating.

Just, please, don't ask me where the light-sources are meant to be.

Hi mark really nice illustration. Just one thing that could have been better is the pose. I'm an animator from India and I've learnt 1 thing in animation and that is to stretch the pose when the character in action. Looks really great that way. Bugs bunny poses will really help.

Nice image! I'm going to start a project and plan to use inkscape. Do you know of any good tutorials for inkscape besides the ones in the online book: [link]

Keep drawing

this is really good.but just one question: where does the light source come from? just kidding, the shading feel right to me. Sometimes when you try to be too logical about the light, it seems fake. I find it better just to use the intuition.
